Tendring Show 2011

Hospital Radio Colchester spent the day at the Tendering Show on the NHS to help promote the radio service alongside many other areas of the NHS.
The stand included many NHS areas including a mock operating theatre with a very realistic body to operate on! The tooth fairy was there to show every one how to bush there teeth, maternity matters had a birthing pool, not that anyone tried it out! Health checks were available for checking your BMI, waist measurements, advice on smoking & drinking etc.
The League of Friends volunteers provided free tea coffee and cakes through out the day.
The recently refurbished roadshow van was on site. During the day we chatted to people about hospital radio and gave out magazines & clicky pens. One of our members 'Magic Iain' gave out balloon models to children, and another Bob Miller spent the day with the recorder collecting interviews with whoever he could grab hold of, he even managed to get an interview with BBC Essex.
