It is with great sadness that we lost one of the most dedicated members and supporters of Hospital Radio Colchester. Ray Jennings passed away on Friday 7th January 2005 following a long illness that he fought with great courage and dignity and to his credit Ray remained very positive throughout. Ray had been a very active and key member of Hospital Radio Colchester since the 1970's. He will be best remembered for his work as Chief Engineer (where he installed and built two complete studios), Fundraiser (as main organiser of the HRC Gala / Fun day for many years), Wednesday team leader and for his long service on the Management Committee. Ray was always willing to provide help and advice and continued to play an active role
throughout his illness and was still carrying out activities and helping people in December. There is no doubt that Ray will be sadly missed by many and his contribution to HRC will be remembered and appreciated for a long time to come. We will ensure that Ray's contribution to the service over many years will not go un-recognised, equally we all know how much HRC meant to him. Our thoughts remain with Ray's wife Janet and the rest of his family in their sadness.
