Hospital Radio Colchester has provided all patients in Colchester General Hospital with freephone access to the studio. As the studio is not currently based at the hospital site this was not a straightforward process. However everything is now in place and listeners using the Patientline terminals can now call the studio at no cost to themselves by dialling *800.

join in competitions. Historically the ability of finding a free trolly phone in the ward has proved difficult and deterred people calling in. Hospital Radio Colchester plans to make full use of the service with more interactive programmes.
