LAST BROADCAST FROM WILSON MARRIAGE CENTRE

It was the end of an era for Hospital Radio Colchester as we broadcasted our final show from the Wilson Marriage Centre on the evening of Thursday 28th February 2008.
After 17 years based at the top of the Wilson Marriage Centre, Hospital Radio Colchester is moving to new studios at South Lodge, on the General Hospital site at Turner Road.
To mark the occasion of the final show, all members were invited to an evening of reflection and celebration to say goodbye and pay tribute to time spent at the Centre.
Eighteen members representing most of the teams joined in with themed programmes, looking back on the last 17 years of news, music and Hospital Radio Colchester.
The evenings events; co-ordinated by Kelly Murray and Pete Matthews from the Thursday team saw members battling for the chance to cut the cake by taking part in a quiz. The lucky winners were Andy Thompson from the Monday Team and former member Trevor Richards – who generously shared the cake with everyone present, together with a little wine to wash it down!
The entertainment included requests from hospital patients, studio guests and live broadcasts from the hospital.
A great time was had by all, now we look forward to an exciting future broadcasting from our new home at South Lodge.
